Middle school reading and writing curriculum to help students understand how their own experiences  enable them to understand the voices they hear in their reading. This curriculum pushes students to hear and analyze these voices as they never have before, in order to reach a deeper understanding of the world. Curriculum consists of four units of approximately 250 pages per unit.

The Chicago Guide for Teaching and Learning in the Arts

The Chicago Public Schools Office of Arts Education collaborated with teachers, principals, arts organizations, teaching artists, university professors, education consultants, and grant makers in the arts to create a curricular framework in music, visual arts, theater, and dance that is sequential, developmentally appropriate, and meets state and national arts standards.
Project consists of 280-page printed guide and 120-page web site.

Learning Targets: Guide to Grade-Level Content Expectations

Learning Targets outline the key learning outcomes for each grade level (K-12) in Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science representing learning expectations (both content and skill) for each grade level. The goal of Learning Targets is to facilitate conversations between parent, student, and teacher, and to bridge the gap to Common Core adoption.
Project consists of 256-page publication.

McDougal Littell
Literature

McDougal Littell Literature invites students to explore the world of art, literature, and life’s big questions. The unique organization around clusters of standards allows for the teaching of major literary concepts across genre. Standards that belong together are taught together. Students analyze fiction, nonfiction, poetry, drama, and media across clusters of standards. Special features support visual and media literacy, along with research strategies.
